Anonymous asked: You're not getting the real issue. Once again SJM has completely changed a character. Say what you want but based on spoilers Tamlin is not like he is in ACOTAR. It's not even the same character. SJM keeps doing this & alienates a whole part of the fandom just for her precious ships. What Rhysand did was inexcusable in ACOTAR but he never has to answer for it because of course now Tamlin, who was nothing but kind towards Feyre in ACOTAR, is a bad guy. Be under SJMs spell but that's bad writing!

Ohohoho. My dear anon. I am going to have so much fun responding to this.
Here we fucking go, children, so sit back and enjoy the ride.
First, SJ Maas’s “precious ships”? SHE IS THE FUCKING AUTHOR. THIS ISN’T SOME PATHETIC FANGIRL IN THE FANDOM WRITING A FANFICTION. She created these characters, so if she wants certain ones together, then that’s how it’s supposed to be for the story. Never mind the fact you’re feeling petty because you’re caught in the fantasy that the first guy you meet will be your soulmate with no issues at all. SJ Maas is a queen when it comes to writing realistic relationships, and if you can’t see that, then oh fucking well, huh?
What Rhysand did was inexcusable…I’m sorry honey you’re gonna have to be more specific than that. Rhys made Feyre dance for him? That’s about the only thing I hear used against Rhysand so you need a better claim or more than that, especially since he never touched Feyre inappropriately. Never mind the fact that Tamlin—IN ACOTAR, since he’s Mr. Niceguy to you!— pinned Feyre against a wall and bit her so hard he left a bruise, then said it wasn’t his fault because Feyre didn’t stay in her room? Are. You. Fucking. Kidding. Me.
And SJ Maas didn’t change Tamlin’s character. She’s been writing acotar for 7 YEARS! Maas didn’t just wake up one morning and decide “Hey. I think I’m going to make this character evil and change the love interest just because I enjoy getting a rise out of my fans.” No.
In the long run, my dear anon, even if Tamlin loved/loves Feyre—he needed her to break the curse. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: The curse said that a human girl needed to fall in love with him. It never said he had to love her as much back. Plus, what brought on the curse? His pompous ass saying he’d rather bed a human than Amarantha, which he knew would insult her. Why? Because humans would be an inferior alternative, but still better than Amarantha.
But don’t worry anon, I’ll cover Rhys so I don’t seem biased. Rhysand will “pay” for what he’s done to Feyre. Because he feels horrible about it. Maybe in your searching through spoilers you saw that he apologized to Feyre and had been fucking tearing himself apart for what she had to go through and what he had to do.
Tamlin didn’t do shit for Feyre in acotar. The only good thing he did was get her out of a shitty life, which will always be awesome to me. But once the curse is broken, what does he do? He goes fucking insane and gets really overprotective—teaming up with the King of Hybern to get Feyre back and torturing her sisters in the process. Sorry, but that doesn’t seem like a very healthy relationship, now does it? He’s an abusive prick.
Tamlin’s character and Feylin aren’t bad writing. It’s fucking reality, and if you Feylin shippers/Tamlin lovers can’t see that, then the real world will eat you up and spit you back out.
Need I go on? I get the real issue. I think it’s you who needs to elaborate on the characters and the story more.
